These lemon-flavored Air Fryer Brussel Sprouts are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. With just a few ingredients, these sprouts are deliciously roasted to serve as a weeknight side dish.
Ingredients
Not much is needed to make these sprouts in the air fryer.
These crispy Brussels sprouts are coated with olive oil, salt and pepper to taste, and lemon juice.
They are then transferred in the air fryer to give you a similar result as if the sprouts were roasted in the oven. However, you’ll have a crispier outer layer.
Why Does This Recipe Work?
The sprouts are air fried to a dark golden-brown color, leaving some of the outer layer charred and wonderfully crispy, and yet soft in the center.
They are addictive and has a hint of lemony flavor from the lemon juice.
They are perfect to serve as a side dish.
They pair well with poultry recipes such as the air fryer roasted turkey breast and the whole chicken recipe.
Brussel sprouts usually do not have a good reputation because of its bitterness. However, once cooked and flavored to perfection, they are very enjoyable.
They absorb any flavor they are given. Our preferred method is to either roast or steam them. We love how the air fryer gives them the extra crunchiness and no need to worry about the unpleasant mushy texture.
How to Cook Brussel Sprouts in Air Fryer?
Making perfect, slightly charred, crispy lemon pepper Brussels sprouts in air fryer is easy! Follow these steps to make them perfectly each time.
First, trim off and discard the stems at the bottom of the sprouts, this also include any loose outer layers. Then, slice larger sprouts in half or desired size depending on how large the sprouts are.
Next, season the sprouts. In a large mixing bowl or directly in the air fryer basket, toss them with olive oil and generously season with pinches of salt and pepper.
Finally, air fry the Brussel sprouts for 15 minutes or until the sprouts are slightly crisp and soft in the center, and nicely golden brown on the outside.
Be sure to keep an eye on them as they cook so they do not burn. They cook fast!
Do not discard the charred ones. They are very delicious and addictive!

Recipe Notes
- Buy the ones that are already cut in halves to reduce preparation time.
- Keep the sprouts the same size for even cooking.
- Although not necessary, you may arrange the Brussel sprout cuts facing upward to allow the center to become extra crispy.
