This recipe works because it is tasty, hearty, and savory. Especially on a beautiful fall day. And did I mention you can make this soup in 30 minutes or less? No need to wait for hours for dinner. The best part, this turkey taco soup can be made with ground turkey or other any protein. And it can easily be paired with tortillas or over rice for a more hearty meal.

How to make this ground turkey taco soup on the stove
The method I used to make this taco soup on the stove is simple. In a medium Dutch oven or shallow pan, heat the oil and add the ground turkey. Cook for about 5 minutes or until lightly brown.
Add the onions, garlic, and tomatoes and cook for 1 minute. Then add the taco seasoning, stirring occasionally.
Add the beans and corn. Cook for 2 minutes. stirring occasionally.
Immediately add chili powder, cumin, cilantro, and water. Stir. Bring to simmer for 10 minutes.
Serve warm with cheese and sour cream.
What to eat with taco soup
I personally love tortillas chips with my ground turkey taco soup. Tortilla chips, which can be purchased at any grocery stores, are perfect with the soup. However, the following Mexican Street Corn, does pair well with this recipe. But if you are looking for something a little on the lighter side than I suggest pairing with white rice.
Other soups to try
If you looking for quick soup ideas, my tomato soup, butternut squash soup, broccoli cheddar soup, and the vegetarian corn chowder, are all fairly easy to make, but are extremely delicious and will satisfy everyone in the family, especially the kiddos.
