    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

    Can I Use Frozen Shrimp?

You can use frozen shrimp to make this air fryer coconut shrimp. We recommend that you allow it to thaw out first prior to breading the shrimp.

How long does frozen shrimp take in an air fryer?

Between 360°F to 400°F, frozen shrimp can take up to 12 minutes to cook in the air fryer.

What happens if you cook frozen shrimp without thawing?

We recommend you thaw the shrimp first prior to cooking it in the air fryer to prevent it from becoming rubbery.

Air Fryer Coconut Shrimp Top Tips

    • Every air fryer is not the same. It may take your air fryer longer or shorter than 10 minutes to cook the shrimp completely. Best to work in batches for even cooking. The size of the shrimp will also make a difference in how long it will take the shrimp to cook completely.
    • My shrimps were large. It took me about 10-12 minutes to cook the shrimp completely.
    • You don’t always have to heat the air fryer. However, it does help as the shrimp starts to cook the minute it touches the basket.
    • Add Old Bay seasoning for bold flavors. If you don’t have Old Bay seasoning, consider seasoning the shrimp with salt and pepper, Cajun seasoning, or seafood seasoning.
