Your next taco night will be taken to the next level for sure with these salmon tacos! The most incredible flavor is achieved by flaking salmon onto a tortilla and then topping it with your favorite sauce or condiment.

These tacos will make you forget about the boring tacos. They will surely make your taste buds jump and wiggle with joy. These tacos are healthy and delicious.

Topping it all, you can make them with flour or corn tortillas, whatever you prefer.

    What Are Salmon Tacos?

Salmon tacos are extremely delicious treats that are made with spicy salmon as the main filling for soft tacos.

There are a variety of toppings for these tacos, such as salsa. When it comes down to salsa, you can opt for mango salsa or fresh tomato salsa, whatever you are craving. In addition, you can add crunch to the tacos by adding cabbage slaw or our pikliz.

They taste amazingly delicious with the addition of sour cream as it adds contras, and finish it off with a bit of queso fresco or feta cheese.

Key Ingredients – $15 Dollar Meals or Less

There are many reasons that salmon tacos are becoming a part of culinary desires. However, if you don’t know what’s so unique about them, we have a few reasons to share. To begin with, salmon is like a superhero of food, packed with protein and good fats.

Salmon loves to play with other tastes. Spicy, sweet, tangy, smoky – whatever you like, there’s a topping that’ll make your taste buds do a happy dance. Also, there are no rules here. You can opt into baking, grilling, or pan-frying your salmon, choose your favorite tortillas, or add on the toppings – it’s your taco adventure!

step by step guide to make salmon tacos

Here are the key ingredients used in this recipe and how to make it a $15 or less Meal.

Salmon – Choose salmon that’s good quality but that is also cost-effective. We spent $8.70

Seasoning – Jacmel seasoning is $.64 for two tablespoons Or use the seasoning you have in your pantry.

    Olive Oil – $.31 for 1 tablespoon.

Red Onion – $.94 – All you need is one red onion and add an earthy crunchy flavor.

Lemon / Lime – $.58 – One lemon will suffice. I like to serve these salmon tacos with fresh lime or lemon wedges to squeeze on top before eating!

Tacos – $2.44 for a pack of 10 hard or soft shell tacos.

This dish cost a total of $14.51

For an additional $2.53 you can add Lettuce for $1.75 per head, and avocado for $.78 each.

What To Eat With Salmon Tacos?

    If you want to serve it as a full meal, choosing the right food options to pair your salmon tacos with is important. Some of the options include;

    • Keep it fresh with corn on the cob, veggies, or a simple salad. They’ll say “hello” to the salmon’s rich flavor without stealing the show.
    • Light beers, crisp wines, or fruity cocktails? All good choices! Just pick something that makes the flavors of your tacos pop.
    • Squeeze on some lime, sprinkle on some cilantro, and add a dab of hot sauce if you like things spicy. These little touches make your tacos extra special.

How To Store Your Tacos & Make Meal Prep

Prepping comes in handy any time of the week to make dinner a breeze. Prep as many ingredients as possible the day before taco night. Here are some dinner efficiency tips.

Delicious salmon tacos on a bowl
    • Prepare the salmon and sauce ahead of time. Prep the salmon ahead of time. The salmon cooks quickly. You can prepare it the night before and reheat it when it is time to serve.
    • If you are making your tortilla. I recommend that you prepare your tortilla the day you will serve the tacos as this will ensure they stay warm and fresh.
    • Prepare the lettuce / Condiments. The lettuce and other condiments (minus the avocado) can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for a few days.
    • Storing leftover salmon: Salmon can be refrigerated for 3 days or frozen for 3 months in an airtight container.
