Take your pops to the next level with these Mango With Tajin Popsicles. A frozen treat to keep you cool in the heat.

mango popsicle with Tajin on ice and mint

These mango with Tajin popsicles are so easy to make!  They’re a refreshing way to cool down on a hot day with a little spice and are loved by kids and adults!

    What is Tajin?

Dating back as early as 1985 and originated in Mexico, the Tajín blend is a spice blend that’s made of mild chili peppers, lime and sea salt.

The blend was created as a way for families to enjoy and enhance the flavors of your fruits and veggies.

What does Tajin seasoning taste like?

As mentioned in the blend, Tajin has a low heat level from the peppers that are used, followed by a hint of lime.

    Is It Spicy?

It may have small kick if you are not too familiar with the bold spices that are used to make Tajin. However, it is not overly spicy as this recipe uses only ½ of teaspoon of the seasoning.

If you do not want it to be spicy, you can definitely remove the seasoning blend and just add the mango puree to the popsicle mold as is.

If you’d like to add or substitute the seasoning blend, you may use cayenne pepper or choose from the list of substitutes for cayenne pepper here.

You can customizable your mango popsicle with some extra goodness. Here are a few suggestions:

    Pineapple

    Peach

    Strawberries

    Blueberries

    Recipes To Make With Tajin?

We are all about fusion recipes. We love mixing our Haitian dishes with foods from around the world, similar to this Haitian Taco recipe.

You can use Tajin seasoning in many ways.

Tajin is mildly hot. You do not need much of it to add some heat to a dish.

With a light citrus flavor, this seasoning works well with roasted air fryer Brussels sprouts.

You can also use it to a kick to your favorite stews like this Poulet En Sauce, Oxtail Stew, eggplant stew (Haitian Legume), Keto Beef Stew, or in this Instant Pot curry goat recipe.

    How To Ripen A Mango?

As stated above, we used the Honey Mango. However, if your mango has not ripened, here are a few steps to follow below to ripen your mangoes.

    • Keep the unripe mangoes on the counter. By keeping the mangoes on the counter, the room temperature will help to speed up the process. This process can take about one week.
    • Feel free to place the mangoes in a brown paper bag. Place the mangoes in a brown bag and let it sit on the counter. This will cause ethylene to be present in the bag and will help the mango to ripe faster.
    • If you are not using the mangoes right away, place the mangoes in the refrigerator to keep them from ripening.

    Ingredients

These three-ingredient pops are the easiest summer sweet to make. You do not need to do much. Just simple three ingredients will work. Here’s what you’ll need:

    Ingredients

Fresh Mango– We used honey mangoes. However, any ripe mango will work for this recipe. You can also use frozen mangoes if you are no able to get the fresh ripe mangos.

Water – To help with the blending.

Tajin Seasoning – This is what take the popsicles to the next level. This seasoning blend can be found at any grocery store, international market, or online.

    How to cut a mango?

If you want to learn how to cut a mango, it is quite simple. Start by cutting one side of the mango after you have washed it.

Hand slicing Mango - How to cut a mango

Repeat the step for the other sides. Starting with one of the slices, use a paring knife to slice the mango vertically, then horizontally. Be careful to not cut your fingers or hand.

Use your fingers to push the skin from the bottom upward pushing out the diced mangos up towards you.

Use a spoon or the knife to cut out the pieces.

If you are not comfortable cutting the mango this way, simply slice the mango on all sides, discarding the core.

Use the knife to peel the skin off. Then use the peeled slices as desired.

How To Make Mango With Tajin Popsicles?

All you need is 5-10 minutes of you time to make this delicious mango popsicles with Tajin. It is best to use a food processor or a high performing blender.

Gather the ingredients. Wash and pat dry the mangos. Peel and slice the mangoes.

In a food processor, add the water. This will help the mango not stick to the bottom of the blade.
