This Mango Lemonade recipe offers a fresh spin on the much-loved Haitian lemonade drink, with an extra fruity hit and an even more tropical taste.
Refreshing, sweet, and citrusy, lemonade is a classic summer cooler that brings you sunshine in every sip.
Quick and easy to put together, it tastes miles better than anything you could find at the store and will soon become part of your summer recipe repertoire.
Mango
This tropical tree fruit is popular around the world for its sweet taste and vibrant yellow flesh. Not only is it delicious, but it’s nutritionally rich, packed full of dietary fiber, vitamins, minerals, and antioxidant compounds.
Mango Lemonade is a great way to use up any mango that is a little too ripe for your liking (though if there are large black areas on the skin, your mango is too far gone).
You will need a blender to get your mango the smooth consistency needed for this Mango Lemonade, though if you can find frozen mango pulp, your prep time will be cut down even further.
Using a sieve will ensure that your Mango Lemonade is free from any lumps and will help it blend beautifully with the simple syrup and lemon juice in this recipe.
Simple Syrup
There are many methods when it comes to making this lemonade. Option one includes blending everything together in a high-quality blender until smooth.
Option two includes a straightforward mix of sugar and water, heated so that the sugar dissolves and you won’t be left with any grains of sugar coating the bottom of your glass.
If you like, you can always make a batch of simple syrup and store the rest in a clean bottle in the refrigerator.
It is really useful to have on hand and can be used in a wide range of classic cocktails or mocktail.
Making a larger batch will also mean that you can easily add more simple syrup if you like your lemonade a little bit sweeter.
If you would rather use something other than granulated sugar, you can also make a simple syrup from honey.
Alternatively, you can simply use a less processed variety like coconut sugar, cane sugar, or turbinado sugar.
Lemons
Of course, it wouldn’t be lemonade without the citrus burst of lemon juice! Bottled lemon juice will do the trick but for the best results, freshly squeezed lemons should always be your first choice.
Not only is it free from any added preservatives, but you will get a much cleaner, fresher overall flavor.
The kind of lemon you should use will depend on your tastes. Meyer lemons are less acidic than regular lemons and sweeter in taste with an almost floral flavor.
If you like your lemonade more on the sharp side rather than sweet, then regular lemons will get the job done.
Variations Of Mango Lemonade
For a more adult beverage, you could add in either vodka or rum to make a tropical cocktail that’s perfect for summer.
You also have the option of adding in some extra fruits to blend alongside your mango. Really, the options are endless, but strawberry, pineapple, peach, and watermelon would all make fabulous additions.
