Everyone loves cookies because they are so versatile—even those without a sweet tooth can’t resist sneaking one or two.
For the most part, they are loaded with chunks of Oreo cookies and white and dark chocolate chips, creating a contrast.
COOKIES AND CREAM COOKIE RECIPE
Flour, sugar, eggs, butter, Oreos, and white and dark chocolate chips come together to form these extraordinarily chewy and soft Cookies n’ Cream cookies. Yummy snacks are made by combining all these components into a batter and then baking it.
This makes for a wonderful mix that provides a generous amount of chocolate while also making the cookies texturally delicious with their richness and crumbles of Oreo bits.
To claim that cookies and cream cookies are an excellent variation on traditional cookies would not be inaccurate. Plus, they’re ideal for those who enjoy sweets with a chocolate and cream flavor profile.
WHAT’S SO UNIQUE ABOUT THEM?
On the surface, these cookies look like a simple variation, but many twists make these cookies unique. To begin with, the combination of Oreo chunks and cream, along with the cream cheese adds a rich and deep chocolate flavor.
Second, the soft and chewy cookie dough is complemented by the crunch of Oreo bits. When combined, these two components provide a symphony of textures that delights the palate. Its unusual flavor and texture will shock your taste receptors.
WHY YOU’LL LOVE THIS RECIPE
Super easy to make: Though the name may sound fancy, these cookies and cream cookies are very easy to prepare and bake. There is no need to chill the dough before baking the cookies.
They are addictive: These cookies are chewy and soft, with a slight crisp edge.
The perfect combination: The cookies’ deep, rich flavor comes from a blend of almond and vanilla flavors.
They are butter: Butter gives the cookies a tender, rich buttery flavor.
KEY INGREDIENTS
- Flour: All-purpose flour works best. If you are gluten-free, alter the recipe by using gluten-free all-purpose flour for baking.
- Baking soda & baking powder: Used to make the cookies rise.
- Softened Butter: If you want more control over the amount of salt in the cookies, unsalted butter is the way to go.
- Eggs: The eggs are used as a binding agent.
- Oreos: The key element! Make sure to cut the cookies into large pieces. To make crushed Oreos, place the cookies in a Ziplock bag and roll them with a rolling pin, or finely slice the cookies with a knife.
HOW TO MAKE COOKIES AND CREAM COOKIES
Begin by preheating the oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper and set the baking sheets aside.
Combine the dry ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and cornstarch. Set the bowl aside.
Prepare the sugar mixture: In a large mixing bowl with an electric hand mixer or a stand mixer, on medium speed, beat or whisk the butter until creamy, then add the sugar. Continue to combine until well combined.
Add the egg and continue to combine, then add the vanilla extract. Mix the ingredients until it is smooth.
Bring together the wet and dry ingredients: Reduce the speed to low and gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
Mix the ingredients until just incorporated, taking care not to overmix them. Next, mix in the Oreo cookie bits and chocolate chips until uniformly distributed.
Prepare the bake the cookies and cream cookies: Round out the dough using your hand after scooping it with a small cookie scoop (which is equivalent to 2 tablespoons of dough). Press down slightly on the cookies as you place them on the baking sheet that has been prepared.
As an optional topping, you can sprinkle some additional chocolate chips and Oreo pieces on top of the cookies before transferring the sheets to the oven.
After 8 to 10 minutes in the oven, the edges should be firm. If the cookie centers appear underbaked, that’s fine. After the cookies have cooled for a while, move them to a rack to cool completely. Have fun eating the cookies!
PAIRING SUGGESTIONS
These cookies and cream cookies are so delicious, can’t help but eat one out of the container while passing by. However, if you want to enjoy it, you can pair the cookies with the following.
- Cold Milk: This is a classic pairing that everyone loves. The creaminess of milk will be a perfect contrast to the sweet cookies.
- Iced Coffee: Since these cookies are meant to be eaten warm, we recommend creating a combination with a cool iced coffee. You can choose between cold brew or iced latte, whatever you prefer.
- Fruity Drinks: One of the best options is to add a touch of fruitiness through lemonade. Another option is to make iced tea with fresh fruit chunks because the bright flavor goes well with the deep and rich flavor of cookies.
- Fruity Compote: A dollop of homemade fruit compote, like cherry or blueberry, adds a fresh and tangy layer to the cookies.
RECIPE TIPS & SUGGESTIONS
- It is essential that their eggs and butter be at room temperature before beginning the recipe. In comparison to when they are cold, they can incorporate with the other components considerably more effectively. Your cookies will also maintain their tenderness and softness if you do this.
- Always combine the ingredients separately before bringing them together. That way, all of the components are properly combined.
HOW TO STORE YOUR COOKIES
Cookies and cream cookies are perfect for storing for a few weeks but stay fresh for about 5-7 days. That’s because they can maintain the crispy exterior while keeping the middle part chewy.
After this timeframe, you need an airtight container and put cookies into it. The cookies will be fresh for three to four weeks, and you can reheat them in the microwave for a bit before eating!
