Follow these simple steps to make perfect air fryer scrambled eggs every time:
First, add the cracked eggs in a small bowl.
Season to taste. If you’re adding cheese, whisk the cheese in as well. Whisk vigorously for 1 minute.
Cook the eggs in air fryer. In a small baking dish suitable to fit the air fryer, add in 1 tablespoon butter. Spread the butter around the dish. Then add the egg mixture.
Place the dish in the air fryer. Cook on 350 for 10-12 minutes.
Should I use butter or oil
This is completely optional. Though we appreciate the fat and richness from the butter, we also use olive oil to cook our eggs.
If using butter, add spread the butter around the baking dish. Place the dish in the air fryer and preheat the air fryer to allow the butter to foam. Or if your air fryer does not have a preheat option, then heat the dish for 30 seconds at 350 degrees or until you see small specs of foam in the dish.
If you are using olive oil or vegetable oil, there’s no need to use the preheating method as the oil will not “foam”.
You may use a combination of oil and butter. About 1 ½ teaspoon will work for 4 eggs.
If you are like us and would like to add cheese to your eggs, it is best to use room temperature cheese as opposed to cold cheese. Room temperature cheese will help the eggs cook evenly.
It is best to avoid bagged cheese due to cellulose which are often found in bagged cheese. It is best to use fresh or block cheese and shred the cheese yourself.
Avoid add small chunks of cheese as you may result in an uneven consistency.
We like to add fresh herbs such as parsley, thyme or oregano to eggs. these herbs will provide a fresh, colorful finish to the eggs.
You may add the herbs while whisking or when the eggs are complete as a topping.
