Instant Pots are one of the best kitchen tools for whipping up tasty meals in just a fraction of the time of traditional cooking methods, and this Frozen Instant Pot Chicken Wings recipe is no exception. Finish in the air fryer with a delicious wing sauce of your choice, these game day favorites won’t be around for long!

    Chicken Wings

One of the most budget friendly cuts of chicken, wings are a great product to keep in your freezer for all kinds of occasions and can be flavored in many different ways.

    • step by step guide to make instant pot air fryer chicken wings

This recipe uses a simple cajun seasoning to bring out the best in this savory meat, creating sticky, tasty bites that everyone will enjoy.

As the Instant Pot uses hot steam to cook, it’s not really possible to get crunchy chicken wings using this method alone. However, if you prefer a crispy wing all you need to do is transfer them to the air fryer for a few minutes.

If you have fresh chicken wings rather than frozen, you can use the exact same method outlined in this recipe but just cook them for 8 minutes on High Pressure, followed by a 10 minutes Natural Pressure Release.

    Seasoning

A simple store bought cajun seasoning will be more than enough to season the chicken. However, if you do not have cajun seasoning, you can toss the wings with salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika before cooking them, and it will help bring out their flavor and will add some extra oomph to your wings.

This Frozen Instant Pot Air Fryer Chicken Wings recipe is highly adaptable, with the option to use any of your favorite spice blends, such as this Haitian Epis Seasoning Blend and a wing sauce of your choice.

You can go for a classic buffalo sauce, Homemade barbecue Sauce, honey garlic, or could experiment with sauces inspired by different cuisines like Haitian, Korean or Thai. Simply whip it up while your chicken wings are in the Instant Pot and you will have food on the table in less than half an hour.

You could try our Southern Style Potato Salad, Mexican Street corn on the cob, and classic baked beans or yuca fries, or potato wedges and a simple fresh green garden salad.

Do I Need An Instant Pot To Cook Chicken Wings From Frozen?

An Instant Pot is the quickest way to cook wings from frozen while retaining a tender and succulent texture (that’s all down to the steam!) However, you can just as easily cook chicken wings from frozen in the oven or Air Fryer.

Just bear in mind that they will take significantly longer in the oven to ensure the chicken wings are properly cooked through.
