Tips For Making The Best Winter Soups
- To fully enjoy your favorite winter soups, we’ve gathered a few tips for you to consider.
- When making creamy soups, we highly recommend using an immersion blender to puree the ingredients together to avoid spills and burns.
- If you decide to use a countertop blender, we highly recommend working in batches. For a thick consistency, use the “sauté” setting which will help the soup concentrate on your desired consistency.
- Chop those veggies or sauté them. Always best to have your vegetables chopped or cut in similar size for even cooking.
- Less is always more. If you choose to customize the recipes, try not to overdo it by filling the pot with more ingredients than the pot can handle.
- Season as you go. Feel free to adjust the seasoning to your taste. When adding the seasoning it’s best to start with ½ teaspoon as at time.
- Low and slow is always best. Do not have the temperature on high as you do not want the ingredients / soup to burn at the bottom of the pan.
- If you decide to add ginger to any of the recipes, the best way to peel the ginger is to use a spoon. Ginger is very hard to peel, therefore, for some reason a spoon works well.
- Most of these recipes can be customize to a vegan version. Please read the recipe fully to see how you can fully convert it to a vegan recipe.
- To avoid splashes and splatters, it is best to use a ladle for serving or when transferring the soup to a blender.
