Seriously guys, let’s talk about how gorgeous these shrimp skewers look. They took only 10 minutes to make in the air fryer.

Indulge in delicious nutty flavors with a hint of cayenne pepper that teases your taste buds as you wait for the heat to kick in, but never does. Only to keep you wanting more and more after each bite.

How To Make Prawn Sticks In The Air Fryer

This prawn skewers with Thai dipping sauce is a quick and healthy meal! Each shrimp is coated with a dipping sauce that has bold nutty and sweet flavor.

Let’s start with gathering the ingredients. You need just two simple ingredients: the Thai dipping sauce ingredients I previously shared in an earlier post, and shrimp. Other optional choices to include in your shrimp skewers are zucchini, bell peppers, green onions, and cherry tomatoes.

Be sure that the shrimps at minimum are the large ones – the bigger the better! At the grocery stores in the frozen section, you can easily find 16-20 shrimps in a bag. The shrimps must be deveined and shells removed.

Once the ingredients are gathered, it’s time to start threading the shrimp and vegetables.

    Why does this recipe work?

You know I love my easy and time saving recipes. Shrimp recipes are extremely easy to make, they are full of protein, light, and healthy. It’s easy to turn shrimps into a meal.

I’ve been in an Asian culinary mood lately, so I’m bringing a piece of the Asian cuisine to you!

When making this shrimp skewers recipe, you could add anything you want in terms of vegetables. For these air fryer prawn skewers I added zucchini, green onions, and cherry tomatoes.

This recipe comes together easily in 8-10 minutes, tops!

If you don’t have an air fryer, consider baking them in the oven for 10 minutes or until you have reached your desired texture.

Pretty much use what you have at your disposal.

This recipe is made with basic ingredients, which is something to appreciate when we’re short of ingredients.

It’s very delicious, fancy, and is presented well for a dinner party.

This shrimp skewers can be served with pretty much anything. It can be part of a side dish or served with salads. Or it can a stand-alone appetizer.

    Recipe Variations

Versatility doesn’t hurt. If you lack some of the mentioned ingredients to complete this recipe, try adding a little bit of the following suggestions listed below:

    • Red onion
    • Sliced pineapples
    • Bell peppers
    • Cucumbers
    • Carrots if baking in the oven
    • You can even mix it with chicken breast. The sauce also works great as I have used it in this Chicken Skewers recipe.

What to serve with these prawns

Shrimp skewers or prawn sticks are a classic option, especially during the summer time. But this recipe can be served all year around. You can complete the meal by serving these shrimp kabobs over this dill rice or over this Haitian Black Rice. The possibilities are endless.
