Easy homemade 10 ingredient Ti Malice Hot sauce. This Haitian hot sauce pairs well with poultry, fish, and red meat. A great sauce to help enhance the flavors of any dish.
6Habanero PeppersChopped; Scotch bonnet peppers are fine as well.
1Large onionChopped
2ShallotsChopped
3Garlic clovesChopped
Juice from 1 lime
⅓CupOilOlive oil or vegetable oil
2Tbsp.Tomato paste
1CupWater
Salt and pepper to tasteOr ½ teaspoon black pepper and 1 tsp. kosher salt
1CupApple cider vinegar
Instructions
Marinate onions and shallots in vinegar and lime juice for 1-2 hours in a saucepan.
Bring to a boil over medium low heat. This process should take about 5 -7 minutes.
Add the peppers, garlic, tomato paste, water, oil, salt and pepper. Stir. Lower the heat to low. Simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
Let cool. You can leave the sauce as is and transfer it to an airtight container or use the preferred method of blending the ingredients.
When blending, allow the sauce to cool, then transfer to a high-quality blender. Blend until smooth.
Transfer to your desired bottles or airtight container and refrigerate.

Best to wear gloves when chopping the ingredients as the peppers are extremely hot and spicy.
You can sauté the onions and shallots first instead of letting it marinate for 1 hour. However, the flavors will develop more if you marinate the onions and shallots first. Create Depth of flavor by adjusting the salt and pepper
