Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to cook turkey breast in an air fryer? A 3½-pound turkey breast took approximately 55–65 minutes in my testing, depending on the air fryer. Begin checking the temperature before the estimated cooking time is complete, and continue cooking until the thickest part reaches 165°F.
What temperature should I air fry turkey breast? This recipe uses 350°F. If the outside browns too quickly, reduce the temperature and continue cooking until the turkey is fully cooked.
Can I use frozen turkey breast? Yes, but thaw it completely in the refrigerator before following this recipe. The cooking method and timing are intended for thawed turkey breast.
How do I keep turkey breast from drying out? Avoid overcooking it. Use a meat thermometer, cook until the center reaches 165°F, and allow the turkey to rest before slicing.
Can I make air fryer turkey breast ahead of time? Yes. Cook the turkey, refrigerate leftovers promptly, and reheat with a little broth or gravy to help keep the slices moist.
How do I store leftover turkey? Store cooked turkey in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3–4 days. Reheat leftovers to 165°F.

Additional Notes:

  • Be mindful of the air fryer you have.  Larger air fryers typically holds a 5 lbs. whole chicken. The turkey breast used in this recipe is about 3 ½ lbs.
  • If you have a larger air fryer, double the ingredients to make it work for you.
  • Turkey breast cooks for approximately 20 minutes per pound.
  • If the turkey is browning too quickly, reduce the temperature on the air fryer.
