Chipotle Chicken Wings Recipe

Ingredients

  • 4.5 lbs. bone-in skin-on chicken wings; washed and pat dry
  • 4 ½ tsp. kosher salt; or to taste. Divided
  • 1 tsp. ground black pepper; or to taste
  • 4 Tbsp. Savory Thoughts' Spicy Chipotle Seasoning Blend; divided
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • Prepare the chicken: Wash and pat dry the chicken wings. Transfer the wings onto the baking dish. Lightly season the chicken with salt and pepper (about 2 ½ tsp. Salt and 1 tsp. ground black pepper). 
    Next, add 2 Tbsp. of the Chipotle seasoning to the chicken. Mix well. Cover and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. 
    Preheat oven to 425 degrees. 
    Bake the chicken for 40-45 minutes, uncovered. Turn the chicken halfway through to cook the chicken on the other side. 
    After 40-45 minutes, remove the chicken from the oven and set it aside. Do not discard the liquid.

  • Prepare the sauce: In a medium saucepan or skillet over medium, melt 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter. Then add ¼ cup honey. Lower the heat to low. Then add 2 Tbsp. Chipotle seasoning blend, 2 tsp. salt or to taste and mix well. 
    Simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Then add the sauce to the chicken. Coat well. Then transfer to the oven for an additional 5-7 minutes. Serve warm and enjoy.
