How To Cook Pizza In A Smoker

Follow our steps to prepare a delicious smoked pizza that's perfect for Pizza Thursday!

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 Package of artisan flat bread Package comes with 2 oven baked flat breads.
  • 2 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella Cheese

Pizza Sauce

  • 2 cups Tomato Sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Olice Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley Dried parsley can be substituted
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Basil Dried basil can be substituted
  • 2 Garlic cloves
  • ½ teaspoon brown sugar
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, add olive oil and garlic. Sauteed the garlic than add the tomato sauce.
    Combine mixture than add parsley, basil, salt and pepper to taste. Let it simmer for about 20 minutes.

  • Remove flat bread from package and spread tomato sauce abundantly over the bread.
    Add the cheeses and placed in smoker at 400°F for 15 minutes or until cheeses melt and slightly golden. Remove and serve.

Other ingredients such as pepperoni, sausages can easily be added as a topping. if added, make sure all meats are cooked prior to serving. Uncooked meats depending on amount will typically add another 15-30 minutes to the actual cooking time.
 
Do not use pre-shredded cheese. Take time to shred it yourself. Pre-shredded cheese has added preservatives to keep it from clumping together, which also prevents it from melting properly.
