Homemade Mushroom Gravy

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 Shallot finely chopped (⅓ cup)
  • 16 Oz. White Mushrooms sliced
  • 4 Garlic Cloves
  • 3 Fresh Sage Leaves
  • 2 Thyme Sprigs
  • 3 Tbsp. All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 Cups Vegetable broth or water
  • 1 Vegetable Bouillon Cube
  • ¼ Tsp. Ground Black Pepper

Instructions

  • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet or saucepan over medium heat. Add the shallot and cook until soft, this process should take about 4 minutes.

  • Add the mushrooms and cook until soft, this process will take about 8 to 10 minutes. Stir in the garlic and thyme and sage.
    Add the flour over the mushrooms and stir for 1 minute.

  • Add the broth, vegetable cube and black pepper. Simmer until thickened over low heat, whisking often; this should take about 20 minutes.
    Serve warm over mashed potatoes, white rice, or cauliflower mashed. Enjoy!
